Phoenix or bust...

I've been lazy at this blog shit this week. Don't matter why, just had more important things to do. Like sleep. Anywho, Big D and I are off to Phoenix this afternoon to get some ridiculous tattoo work done and support his brother's anniversary party for his shop. Should be a hoot. I'll take photos of stupid crap to show you the good time. Hoping to get by to see Jeremiah and the gang too.

Got tons of stuff going on at the shop and hope to have some progress in the next week or so on the whole stable. Shovel's getting new tank, bars, front end and swingarm. Pan's getting either to a point where it runs, or I'm shooting it. Knuck should be stripped down for powder coat on the frame and motor refresh too. Now about that sleep I need...

Later.

Wizard in a weird world...

Everyone's talking about this mysterious "wizard" character lately. Don't know him. Nope. But I saw his bus yesterday. He must be a big-shot, because he had a fully-decked tour bus cruising out west on the 91 after the swap. Nothing marking a destination. Nothing to lead us to understand what his journey was about. Nothing at all except for this lasting impression stolen by my iphone at high speeds.

Crazy weekend is upon us!

Gotta head out in a couple hours to Elsinore to pick up the Ballards. They just let me know that they are doing their best to get the EC van "rockin"... I just don't even wanna know. Seriously.

After that, it's off to Ventura for the party that is Back to the Beach... uh... or Beatnik Blowout! Yeah, that's it. A helluva car / bike show for all you throwback enthusiasts out there. Gotta pack up quick after tomorrow's show so we can pick up Sean down in OC and then hopefully grub and sleep before the swap at the butt crack of dawn on Sunday. Then finally back to our humble slice of the world to unload before hauling Sean back out to Irvine so he can get to work on Monday. No rest for the weary! Look forward to seeing everyone out there someplace.

Tuque'fer Tuesday

Ok, on the premise of Gangsta Tuques, I shouldn't have to remind you that while the tuque may be a symbol of freedom for those of us in the know, it ain't gonna keep Johnny Law off your tail. At least pull that thing down over your face dumb-ass!

I will say that if you're going to wind up on the post office wall or the side of a milk carton, there are definitely worse ways to be seen than sporting a tuque.

Good Times!

Hoedown yesterday. Seems like it flew by. Great times, great people, and great music made for an all-around great day. Taking it easy around the home-front today and just recuperating. Got the Simple Math logo all dolled up and ready for stickers and schwag. Keep your eyes peeled on the EC store in the near future for that and another design I did last week. I was channeling some R. Crumb for the new one... unsuspecting passers-by got a sneak peek at it yesterday at the booth. To all that came out and shot the shit with me and the crew, good to see ya and don't be strangers!

Forking fantastic!

Mcgoo and the gang over at ChopCult skulked around the Street Chopper event this last weekend and took some undercover shots of the various front-end assemblies gracing the road that day. Lo-and-behold, they thought my shovel deserved a little face time! Head on over there and check out the rest of the article... short and sweet!

Busier than a one-legged man...

Everyone seems to be up to their neck in shit to do lately, and I'm no different. Blogs be damned! I got important crap going on and no time, no time! Nirv is kicking my ass (don't know Nirv? Google that crap!). Gotta weld up my bars on the pan tonight and get all the goods together for the show tomorrow. Don't miss out, Hoedown time is here!

Who is this guy anyways??

This little Mike dude it tearing up the bike scene with his creative builds. Rumor has it, he doesn't have a computer, so not only do his influences come from up-close-and-personal, "real life" type stuff, but I can also call him all sorts of names, and he'll never find out! Mike, this shit rules man. Keep it up!

And now, from the other end of the state...

Our boys up north have always got good stories and good times to be had. Good to see 'em last month and hoping to do it again soon. Our boy James "hognuts" just had a kiddo (well, his girl did, but you get the picture)! He also added another to his stable and is keeping the Honda dream alive. This new one might even get ODB salivating... especially that tank! Congrats man! Good times all around!

This is my friend McGoo...

And sometimes words are not enough. Oh, and I hear he hates ellipses...

I think he was reminiscing over some sex show and bean flicking here. Don't ask me, ask him. I'm sure he'll be happy to clue you in!

This is my friend Duane...

And yes, he sometimes wears pants. Long ones. True story.

A little artsy fartsy...

Was dicking around with bar setups last night since the z's on the pan wound up being the problem with throttle assemblies breaking. Not totallly happy with what I got on there now, but it'll do until I can make up something else. I sold all my donor bars at the swap last time around... d'oh! Anyways, I caught this wonderful photo of my ugly mug and thought I'd share. You know you can't get enough of me, so print this out and post on your ceiling above your bed. Or whatever.

The overall results of the night weren't bad. Got around the neighborhood a few times to warm her up and then got the mixture dialed a bit better. Tomorrow will be open highway day to see if my top-end woes have been fixed. I'm itchin' to take this thing for a distance...

The saga continues...

Well, I didn't burn the house down, but I also didn't get to spin the pan around the block either. Carb's on and spittin' gas down the throat well, but my damn throttle assembly cracked in half when I took it off and my only other one had a molding issue on the plastic inner sleeve and I threw it across the room, instantly negating the ability to "customize" it for use. Cobbled the cracked on together enough to get the bike started a couple of times and worked a little on the mixture settings, but without getting up to running temp, that's kinda futile, so I just turned in. New throttle assembly today I hope and then I'll be off and running... I hope.

One man's trash...

...and something about treasure. Blah, blah, blah. Every now and again you get a diamond from coal. And coal is about what this damn Super E looked like when I started. I finally received my Master Rebuild Kit from S&S and got to town last night on getting the dang thing cleaned up so it can go on the Pan and get dialed with some miles before the Hoedown. 4 hours later, and coal starts to shine. Not too much though, I was more focused on the guts than the glitter for the time being. Even so, it looks better, and tomorrow we'll see how she runs. I'm hoping the stockish jets work. Sitting at a 70 main and a 28 intermediate. Should work, but since the pan has a mind of its own and is possessed by some otherworldly speed-freak, I won't hold my breath. Eh, fuck it, let's show some PMA! It's gonna jam!

Fuckin' thing looked like it'd been hit by a bomb... got it for a steal, so I'm not complainin' too loud.

Was a firebreather I guess...

After some spit, some shine, a whole lot of elbow grease and a damn fine kit from S&S, she looks a little more lively.

Next up was my garbage-find manifold.

It came out damn near like new.

First stage complete, now just gotta mount it and introduce it to petrol.

Wish me luck. Tonight's either gonna see me bangin' around town on the pan, or putting out flames in the garage. I'm keepin' the extinguisher at the ready no matter how much PMA you got!

Tuque'fer Tuesday

You think the Tuque is just some simple namby-pamby shit? Think again...

The principle head gear of gangstas everywhere back in the day. I think Ice T must have stolen one of mine, 'cause he went on to start a hardcore band. Sorta. It's a stretch, but whatever. He even did vocals on a track with Jasta. He's cool in my book!

My boy's all growed up now!

Yep, Mr. B hit the big THREE OH! Holy shit! What's next? Adulthood? Not possible!! Blazed out to Dan's Saturday to help him celebrate making it 30 years in a world where some people still think cavemen rode dinosaurs. Almost unthinkable. The caveman thing... not Dan hitting 30. Really. Love you brother, great hanging with ya! Welcome to "almost old man" stage in life!

I'm tired...

I'm just complaining. Been humping day and night lately and for some reason, just gettin' tired. Gotta rebuild the Super E for the pan. Sand the tank for the shovel and start lining out the paint areas. Redo the clutch assembly on the pan too, all in hopes that it's actually ready by the Hoedown. Top it off with the fact that work is beyond crazy with this freakin' product release and I'm just gonna lie down in the corner. Cry me a river... I know. Sue me. Maybe I'll go to bed early tonight. Maybe.
